Committee Reports
-
Ed Humphrey Committee Reports – LEPC
(Local Emergency Planning Committee) and TAT (Terrorism Advisory
Team) - Reported on the SOSINK (Southern Ohio, Southern Indiana,
Northern Kentucky) Homeland Security exercise September 30 at Great
American Ball Park. The exercise involved fire, EMS, rescue, Hazmat, Explosives, SWAT, and many other units from the
12 county region. The focus of the exercise was on communications
and Incident Command. MRMS Exercise was a week long exercise
culminating if the opening of the Clermont County EOC (Emergency
Operations Center)
Wednesday, October 18. The exercise centered on the Health District
and Avian Flu. From both exercises we are pretty well prepared, but
we all need to expand our training so that we can respond in our
role as township elected officials in the event of a disaster.

911 Cellular Committee – Bari Henning
– Enhanced 911 is now up and running. There is funding for three
years to pay for the infrastructure, equipment and training for the
E 911 system. This is being funded through a 32 cent monthly charge
on each cellular phone bill. Examining usage the split is 1/3 for
Union Township Dispatch and 2/3 for Clermont County Dispatch.
Interesting is that over ½ of all 911 calls come from Cellular
phones.
-
OKI Integrating Committee – Tom Dix –
I-75 bridge is in need of replacement and will be a Federal Project,
There are plans for an additional bridge to cross the Ohi river in
the area of SR 133.
-
Storm Water – Debbie Clepper was not
present. Ed Humphrey reported that the Storm Water Utility has
nearly completed their analysis and receiving input from townships
and villages with the help of a consultant. They are making
presentations to the various townships and villages bout the Storm
Water Utility Plan. The projected cost is $3.82 per Equivalent
Residential Unit (ERU). The ERU was determined to be 4000 square
feet as an average of the impervious surface of an average
residence. For Businesses and other commercial sites the Square
feet of impervious surface is divided by 4000 to determine how many
ERU’s that are to pay for. This is a complicated system and we
should all learn more when they make individual presentations to
each township.
