Minutes of February 16, 2006 Meeting

Pierce Township

Ed Humphrey introduced our hosts Chris Knoop, Bonnie Batchler, Gregg Conrad and new administrator from Pierce Township .

 

Active numbers are listed first; honoraries are second.

Motion:  Motion made to approve minutes

Motion     Tom Dix .  Second by Rick Hinson

Motion carried

 

The treasurer reported $9591.48 in the budget.

 

Committee reports in writing

 

Bari Henning- No report on Cellular 911 Committee

 

Debbie Clepper – Clermont County Storm Water Committee advised to send representative to meetings.  8 townships are included to meet EPA requirements; 6 are not. 

 

Homeland Security Training for local governments – 3/1/06 –Southern State Community College

 

George Brown and Harold Herron asked for a $1000.00 donation to the Clermont Mercy Building Fund.

 

George Brown asked townships to endorse Senior Services Levy.

 

Ed Humphrey showed a Lucas County Directory for information purposes for a fund raiser idea.

 

Frank Wilson reported on Donation Committee.  Sandy Graham moved to give $784.00 to the Goshen Historical Society, second by Tom Dix.  Vote was by one person per township.  12 townships were present.  5 were in favor; 7 opposed; motion failed.

Tom Dix moved that $500.00 be donated to Ronald McDonald House; $1000 Neediest Kids of All in Clermont County ; Boys and Girls Club, $250.00; and Kids Vote, $250.00

and $1000 to the Clermont Mercy Hospital Building Fund. Sandy Graham seconded the motion.  Same voting procedure used.   Eleven in favor of the motion.  Motion carried.

 

Ed Humphrey announced that the National Association of Townships had disbanded.  He also announce the Ken Geis would be leaving Miami Township .

 

Gregg Conrad announced that the next banquet-planning meeting would be 3/11/06 at 9am at Frisch’s in Batavia .  Each person pays for his/her meal.  Deadline to have money in is April 8th.  The banquet will be at Grant Vocational School , Thursday, April 27.  Goal is $14,000.

Debbie Clepper volunteered to represent the Township Association on the Terrorism Advisory Team.

 

Tim Hershner announced Planning Supervisor Training Workshop 3/27, 6-9 pm , Pattison Lodge.  He passed out a survey on topics to cover.

 

New trustees were recognized:  Craig Rigdon, Franklin Township ; Chris Knoop and Bonnie Batchler, Pierce Township .

 

Candidates were introduced:  Gregg Conrad, Clermont County Auditor; Danny Bubp, State Representative; Bob McEwen, U.S. Representative.  Tom Niehaus was introduced.

 

Meeting adjourned.
