November 20, 2003

·        All officers present

·        Batavia –0, Franklin – 0, Goshen, 2 + 1, Jackson – 3, Miami – 1 + 1, Monroe – 2, Pierce – 0, Stonelick 1 + 1, Tate – 2, Union – 0, Washington – 1, Wayne 1 + 1, Williamsburg – 2

·        Treasurer’s report $15,055.69

·        Secretary’s report approved as corrected “ Ohio Township will hold a dedication service on October 26, 2003 from 1-4 p.m. for their new fire house.  Motion to approve minutes by Howard Daugherty; second by Ed Sorgel; motion carried.

·        OTA Conference January 28-31, 2004 – Columbus.  Ed Humphrey is running for director.  Our attendance and support of Ed is encouraged.

·        Nominating Committee Report

o       President – Ed Humphrey

o       Vice-President – Virgil Pollard

o       Secretary – Joyce Ann Richardson

o       Treasurer – Minton Christman

o       OTA Exec. Committee Representative – Sandra Graham

Motion made by Lee Lewis and seconded by Rick Hinson to accept the nominations.  Motion carried.

• OKI – Pat Monger reported that there is a new executive director replacing the recently retired director.

• Solid Waste District – Minton reported there had been no meeting.

• Health Dept. – Minton reported there was a back up of inspections.

• OVRDC – Sandy and Lee reported there was no meeting.

• Storm Water Management – Sandy reported that John McManus from Miami U. is helping Clermont County with policies, etc.

• Other committee reports.- In writing by Ed H.

• Suicide Prevention Coalition – In writing

• Curt Paddock, Director of Dept. of Community and Planning Development will offer planning services to the townships at no charge.

• Banquet –Charlie Baz’ls –SR 28 at McClelland –December 18, 2003; 6:30 social time; 7:00 dinner

• All trustees must pay $10.00 per person for the Christmas dinner

• Contributions

• $1,000 Neediest Kids of All (motion Jim Danbury; second Rick Hinson; motion carried

• $ 500.00 Ronald McDonald (motion Sandy Graham; second Jim Danbury; motion carried

• $ 250.00 Kids Vote (motion Joyce Richardson; second Frank Wilson; motion carried

• $ 500.00 Special Olympics (motion Ray Hayslip; second Joyce Richardson; motion carried

• Sandy Graham wanted the association to think about donating to the county historical societies and the importance of the preservation of our history.  We will watch county funding on this topic.

• At the April banquet outgoing clerks and trustees that have had 20 years or more of service will be honored.  Jim Danbury is in charge.  Motion by Sandy Graham; second by Frank Wilson; motion carried.

• News Notes:

• All newly elected clerks and township trustees should send their information to Joyce Richardson

• Farmer Barger was honored with a trail dedication Farmer Barger Walking Trail in Felicity

• Ed will do list of places for next year’s meetings

• All chairs should attend Jan. mtg.  Virgil will start plans for banquet.

• Ed, Sandy and Joyce will check on meat entrees for the Christmas banquet

• Reservations should be made through Joyce

• Meeting adjourned
