Minutes of the Clermont County Township Association

September 18, 2003

• Meeting called to order by President Ed Humphrey
• Pledge of Allegiance
• Prayer
• Dinner
• All officers present
• Townships – Batavia 1, Miami 1 + 1, Monroe 4 + 1, Ohio 2 + 1, Tate 2, Washington 1 + 1, Williamsburg 1 (honorary).  Franklin , Goshen , Jackson , Pierce, Stonelick, Union and Wayne all had 0 present.
• Treasurer’s Report - $14,817.32
• Secretary’s report – Bob Frey moved to accept, second by Frank Wilson, motion carried
• Beth Nevel gave a report on Homeland Security.  Eleven people in the county are trained.  They are now at the assessment stage.  Money should be available for emergency responders.
• All townships benefit from the fuel tax as they would have in the first version of the proposed law.  Seven of 14 townships benefited additionally from the funds contributed by the County Engineers, Municipalities and ODOT.  
• Townships may award contracts up to $25,000 before doing competitive bidding.
• Ed is an OPWC alternate trustee representative.
• Five Clermont Countians attended NATaT in Washington DC Sept. 3-5:  Joe Uecker, Mary Wolff, Ed Humphrey, Skeets Humphries, Curt Hartman
• Winter conference Jan. 28-31, 2004 ; Summer conference August 6-9, 2003 was held in Cincinnati
• Committee reports in writing.
• Ed demonstrated the Township Association Web site.
• Williamsburg had help from Miami University
• Ray Hayslip, Dave Kunz, Frank Wilson and Bari Henning were appointed to the nominating committee.
• Discussion of recognition of years of service for trustees and clerks
• Next meeting October 23, 2003 at the sheriff’s office
• Meeting adjourned
